The Vodafone Group has submitted its bid to buy the Italian and Spanish businesses of Swedish telecom operator Tele2. Other than Vodafone, Italy-based telecom company Wind is also in the race for acquiring these assets. Buying Tele2’s businesses in Italy and Spain, where the company sells internet as well as traditional phone services, will enable Vodafone’s Italian division to bundle mobile and fixed line services with broadband services. Vodafone has reportedly valued Tele2’s assets in Italy at $570-$790 million.

The assessed value of the Spanish assets has not been disclosed.
