Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corporation have reportedly bagged a combined 25 per cent of the 35 billion yuan tender floated by China Mobile to upgrade its GSM network. According to sources, Alcatel-Lucent’s flagship Chinese company, Alcatel Shanghai Bell, has won around 20 per cent of the tender. Ericsson and Nokia have won less than a combined 50 per cent of the tender.

Meanwhile, China Mobile will invest $400 million to extend its network in Pakistan. The company is aiming to improve sales channels and build new brands in the country. It will also build a wireless data transmission system.
