Four new telecom operators are expected to enter the ILD segment, increasing the competition in this space. While Essar and Spice are likely to file applications to provide ILD services this month, Idea and Shyam Telelink are also planning to get into this segment.
Sify will be yet another player, though it will offer only multilocation connectivity to corporates. Spice and Essar are also set to apply for NLD services. At present, there are only three long distance operators ??Bharti, VSNL and BSNL.
