Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has appointed Shankar Adawal as the head of regulatory affairs in Delhi.

Adawal had played a crucial role in setting up mobile for Reliance Industries in the early 2000s. Adwal will look after telecom regulatory affairs after about six years.

He has above 25 years of experience in regulatory work, government relations and support service in the telecom, energy, retail and life sciences sectors.

Recently, RJIL?s senior vice president Anurag Patnaik quit the company and joined Mumbai-based mobile ad exchange Vserv.mobi.

Reliance Jio Infocomm’s head of innovation, Arvind Rao had also quit recently. Rao was responsible for creating strategy around content RJIL would introduce along with its data services.

RJIL, which is the only pan-India 4G spectrum holder, will launch 4G services using spectrum in the 2300 MHz and 1800 MHz bands, in phases in 2015.
