Bharti Infratel has reported has reported a 64 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 4.72 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2014 compared to the corresponding quarter in 2013. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 2.87 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2013.

The company?s revenues for the quarter under review grew by 4 per cent to Rs 27.90 billion. In comparison, the tower infrastructure company?s revenues for the quarter ended March 31, 2013 stood at Rs 26.74 billion.

As for the full-year ended results, Bharti Infratel?s revenues registered a growth of 5 per cent from Rs 102.720 billion during 2012-13 to Rs 108.27 billion during 2013-14.

Further, the net profit stood at Rs 15.18 billion during 2013-14 registering a growth of 51 per cent over Rs 10.02 billion earned during 2012-13.

The total tower assets stood at 83,368 as of March 2014.

Commenting on the company?s financial performance, Akhil Gupta, chairman, Bharti Infratel Limited, said, ?The regulatory environment in telecom sector has improved significantly post the spectrum auctions conducted in February 2014. Operators have made large investments, primarily for data networks. We believe that faster roll-out of networks will happen over the coming years to monetise these investments.?
