Hathway Cable and Datacom Limited has appointed Jagdish Kumar as managing director and chief executive officer.
Meanwhile, the company’s current managing director and chief executive officer, K. Jayaraman has become the vice-chairman to the board of directors.
A chartered accountant by qualification, Kumar has more than 25 years of work experience in companies like ITC Limited, STAR TV and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). Prior to joining Hathway Cable and Datacom Limited, Kumar served as president, media and entertainment at RIL.
At Hathway Cable and Datacom Limited, Kumar will be responsible for leading the company’s digitilisation initiative. The company has completed the first phase of cable TV digitisation covering Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata and expects to complete the second phase by March 2013.
