Bharti Airtel is looking to acquire the entire equity stake in Alcatel Lucent Managed Network Service India, its joint venture with Alcatel Lucent, according to news reports.
This is reportedly a part of a new business model the operator is formulating to manage its fixed line and digital subscriber line broadband networks.
Further, it is believed that the entity would operate independent of Bharti Airtel. Going forward, the entity is expected to invite equity participation from other operators.
This new model is also expected to provide Bharti Airtel with greater control over the data services offered to customers.
