Taiwanese mobile operator Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) is in the process of buying the outstanding 73.26 per cent stake in fixed line affiliate New Century InfoComm Tech (Sparq) for around $645.83 million.The move will enable the operator to compete with its rivals Chunghwa and Taiwan Mobile. FET will pay $0.34 per share for 1.9 billion shares of Sparq via a public tender offer that will close on August 16, 2010.
