Unitech Wireless is planning to raise up to Rs 100 billion through debt and other options to fund its network expansion plans. Besides other funding options, the company, in which Norwegian firm Telenor holds 49 per cent stake, intends to approach the consortium of banks from which it had earlier raised funds. In 2008, Unitech received a loan of Rs 12.5 billion from a consortium including Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Central Bank of India and Vijaya Bank. The process of raising the fresh loan is expected to take four to six months.
