Turkcell, a Turkish telecom company and Europe’s third largest operator by subscribers, is reportedly in negotiations to buy 51 per cent stake in Datacom. The deal is expected to peg the enterprise value of the company at nearly $2.2 billion. Meanwhile, the Turkish company has reportedly asked the Indian promoters ?? the Videocon Group and Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited (HFCL) ?? to resolve their differences before signing the deal. The Videocon Group will also have to buy out HFCL’s stake in Datacom before Turkcell enters the company.
