BSNL opens bids for 45.5 million line tender

BSNL opens bids for 45.5 million line tender Bids for BSNL’s 45.5 million GSM line tender have been opened after being delayed twice due to requests by telecom equipment manufacturers. The initial date for opening the bid, April 28, 2006, was extended till May 31. The project, once implemented, will enable half of BSNL’s CellOne subscribers to avail of 3G services by the end of next year. The L1 bidders will receive 60 per cent of the order while the remaining 40 per cent will go to the L2 bidders.
