Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) with Himanta Biswa Sarma, chief minister, Assam have discussed various developmental issues in the state, focusing on the expansion of telecommunication services.
The ministers also discussed potential areas where telecom services can be expanded to move towards a more connected and digital Assam. Sarma stated that they had a productive discussion on several topics, including enhancing digital infrastructure in Assam by increasing the penetration of 4G, 5G, and high-speed internet services.
The discussions also covered strategies for developing a skilled workforce to support telecom infrastructure and implementing advanced technologies for rapid network restoration in flood-prone areas. Additionally, the ministers talked about improving coordination with the North Eastern Council and speeding up the implementation of projects sanctioned by the DONER Ministry.
