The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has released a new schedule for application submission procedure for the upcoming spectrum auctions which were postponed due to the elections in the country.

As per the notification released by DoT, the last date for submitting bid applications has been moved to May 6, 2024. Meanwhile, the upcoming airwave sale which was supposed to begin on May 20, 2024 as per initial plan, were postponed to June 6, 2024.

In addition, the mock auctions will now be held on June 3, 2024 instead of May 13 and 14, 2024.

As per the notification, the final list of bidders will be released on May 9, 2024.

Further, the Union Cabinet also decided to set up a Committee of Secretaries (CoS) to consider re-farming of existing spectrum usage to increase the spectrum availability to meet the future needs of telecommunication services.
