Mission
- India has achieved one of the world’s fastest 5G roll-outs, with services now available in 99.9 per cent of districts and over 518,854 base transceiver stations (BTSs) installed as of early 2026.
- As the nation transitions from rapid deployment to deep integration, the focus has now shifted toward 5G-Advanced, artificial intelligence (AI)-native networks, and the ambitious Bharat 6G Vision that aims to position India as a global leader in the design, development and deployment of next-generation communication technologies.
- Further, Indian enterprises are shifting from 5G pilots to structural AI integration, cementing these technologies as the dual engines of Industry 4.0. By offloading heavy computation to the network edge, businesses are transforming towards adaptive, self-optimising ecosystems.
- Amidst this transition, the outlook for 5G and the move towards 6G remains overwhelmingly positive as they become the core bedrock of India’s digital economy.
- The mission of this conference is to discuss key trends that are powering the shift towards an AI-native 5G era and beyond, highlight the policy and regulatory moves supporting the shift, and identify emerging opportunities. The conference will also provide a platform for policymakers, key industry stakeholders, standardisation bodies and other stakeholders to share experiences, exchange ideas, and showcase the latest innovations and technologies.
About the conference
The conference will explore the full spectrum of issues defining the 5G era and the transition toward 6G. Discussions will cover the policy and regulatory landscape enabling 5G expansion, spectrum allotment trends and the infrastructure measures needed to extend connectivity to rural and remote regions. Telcos will share their roll-out journeys, monetisation strategies and plans for transitioning from 5G non-standalone to standalone architectures.
Key agenda themes include the convergence of 5G and AI, which is enabling AI-driven network optimisation, adaptive edge computing and self-optimising enterprise ecosystems. Sessions will also address private 5G networks and Industry 4.0 adoption among enterprises, Open RAN and software-defined infrastructure, network slicing for mission-critical applications and energy management strategies for next-generation networks.
A dedicated session on 6G will examine progress under the Bharat 6G Alliance, India’s spectrum roadmap for 6G, the role of 100 5G labs in building a 6G-ready talent and startup ecosystem and the country’s goal of securing 10 per cent of global 6G patents by 2030.
