DoT has reportedly assured that the launch of 3G services in India, expected in mid-2007, will not be delayed. It has stated that spectrum will be allocated as soon as a policy is in place.

Meanwhile, CDMA-based mobile operators will start trials for offering 3G services in January 2007. ZTE Corporation will offer the technology for conducting the trials to Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) and Reliance Communications Limited (RCL).
