According to a study by Deloitte India, around 32 per cent of enterprises in India would prefer to obtain airwaves from another company instead of directly purchasing spectrum from the government for 5G backed services.

Further, the study noted that 20 per cent of respondents were interested in spectrum sharing if they get dedicated rights.

As per the report, 5G is a priority technology for 80 per cent of Indian enterprises. Meanwhile, Wi-Fi 6 and NB-IoT/LPWA are priority technologies for 73 per cent and 63 per cent enterprises, respectively.

Further, around 98 per cent Indian executives believe 5G and/or Wi-Fi 6 will transform their business in the next five years, while 88 per cent believe that the transformation will occur in the next three years.

The study also noted that Wi-Fi 6 is preferred by 55 per cent of executives for indoor use cases and 5G is preferred by 53 per cent of executives for outdoor use cases.

According to the report, around 39 per cent of the Indian enterprises are expected to invest around $10-50 million for wireless technology enhancement within their organisation.
