The union minister for electronics and IT stated that 28 out of the 75 projects approved under the electronics component manufacturing scheme (ECMS) have already broken ground and entered the construction phase.
Describing this as a significant milestone, he noted that the finished products from these projects will cater to domestic demand while also supporting exports to global markets. The projects are expected to generate direct, high-quality employment for around 65,000 individuals.
India is also progressing steadily towards self-sufficiency in electronic components. The country is set to meet 100 per cent of its domestic demand for laminates and relay manufacturing, positioning itself as a global supplier in these segments.
