According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), 19 companies have filed for the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme under the information technology hardware category.

Of these 19 companies, 14 companies have filed applications under the domestic companies category. These include Dixon, Infopower, Bhagwati (Micromax), Syrma, Orbic, Neolync, Optiemus, Netweb, VVDN, Smile Electronics, Panache Digilife, HLBS, RDP Workstations and Coconics.

Further, electronics hardware manufacturers that have applied under the IT Hardware category are Dell, ICT (Wistron), Flextronics, Rising Stars Hi-Tech (Foxconn) and Lava.

The scheme, which was notified on March 03, 2021, was open for filing of applications till April 30, 2021.

As per MeitY, the scheme is expected to lead to a total production of about Rs 1.6 trillion over the next four years. Of the total production, IT hardware companies plan to produce over Rs 1.35 trillion worth of products while domestic companies will produce goods worth over Rs 250 billion.
