According to CyberMedia Research, the total long term evolution (LTE) device shipments in India reached around 1.06 million units during October-December 2014. These devices include smartphones, tablets and data cards with shares of 96 per cent, 3 per cent and 1 per cent, respectively in terms of shipments.

Within smartphones, Apple experienced the largest sales with a market share of about 45 per cent for the quarter ended December 2014. In terms of market share, Apple smartphones were followed by the ones manufactured by HTC at 19 per cent and Samsung at 16 per cent.

In the tablets segment, Apple dominated with a 70.6 per cent market share in terms of shipments during the same time period, followed by Lenovo with a share of 28.7 per cent.

Alcatel led the LTE data card market with an 83 per cent share in the total shipments during October-December 2014. It was followed by Huawei with the remaining 17 per cent share. Notably, no other brand?s data cards were shipped during the quarter.
