Parallel Wireless has said that is expanding its Open RAN research and development centres in India to support 4G and 5G software development and testing.

As per the company’s official statement, its research and development centres that are located in Pune and Bangalore, are expanding to develop and test cloud-native RAN intelligent controllers (RICs), 4G and 5G distributed unit (DU) and centralised unit (CU) software, as well as, 2×2 and 4×4 O-RAN Alliance compliant radios.

The teams at the R&D centres are also working on automation development in Open RAN networks, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
