The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has requested comprehensive support from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in the form of financial aid, backhaul spectrum and duty-free telecom gear to spearhead 5G field trials in the country.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has written to the Secretary, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), stating that it has not yet been apprised about the government's decision on the proposed grievance redressal mechanism or ombudsman for the telecom sector, despite a reminder.
