Mobile Subscribers Yearwise comparision

Private cellular operators have locked horns with BSNL over sharing of revenue earned from roaming subscribers within the country and abroad.

February 15, 2005

Private cellular operators have locked horns with BSNLover sharing of revenue earned from roaming subscribers within the country and abroad. Private cellular companies have objected to BSNL's demand of 50 per cent revenue from international roamers. BSNL had earlier claimed that the traffic from roamers should be treated separately from the usual interconnection agreement between BSNL and other service providers. BSNL had issued a circular to implement new interconnection rates with revised roaming charges from February 1, coinciding with the new ADC regime.
