RCOM's tower company Reliance Telecom Infrastructure Limited (RTIL) and Swan Telecom are in advanced talks for a multiyear infrastructure-sharing deal. If the deal is finalised, Swan Telecom will be able to offer mobile services by riding on RTIL's infrastructure. RTIL can reportedly earn more than Rs 1.3 billion per month through the sharing agreement and this could go up to Rs 2.25 billion as Swan expands its services. Swan had earlier signed an infrastructure-sharing deal with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to use the latter's network. But this deal ran into controversy after some members of Parliament raised objections to it and pointed out that BSNL, which has not opened its networks to other telecom operators, had entered into a deal with a new entrant in the sector that did not have even a single subscriber.
