Indian telcos' capex on 5G to increase if government bans Huawei, says Fitch

Viewpoint , October 09, 2019

According to a report by Fitch, Indian telecom operators’s investment cost on 5G infrastructure may rise if the government does not allow Huawei to build a 5G network in the country.

As per the report, the industry might end up spending more especially on the equipments if Huawei were banned from supplying 5G equipment in India.

This is because China-based telecom vendors are generally cheaper and have better technology on 5G than their European peers, Fitch said.
