Apple has forayed into the video streaming service segment with its Apple TV+. The new service offering has been priced at Rs 99. This is significantly cheaper than the existing services from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar and other players in this segment. The competitive pricing of Apple TV+ has also made it the cheapest monthly plan for Apple across the world.

AppleTV+ will be made available across iPhone, iPad and Mac from November 1, 2019. In addition, Apple will offer one year of the service free with sales of its new iPhones - iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max - and iPads. Moreover, Apple will also provide its gaming service called Apple Arcade to Indian consumers at the same monthly pricing of Rs 99. Going forward, AppleTV+ will also be made available on other platforms like Amazon FireStick for non Apple users in the future.

Apart from this, Apple has announced a cut down in the prices of some of its key iPhones. The handset manufacturer has lowered the market price of the iPhone XR from its launch price of Rs 76,900 to Rs 49,900. Further, the price of iPhone 8 has been lowered from its launch price of Rs 64,000 to Rs 29,900.

Also, the new range of iPhones has been priced at a starting price of Rs 64,900.
