Apple stops selling four lower priced smartphone models in India

Apple has stopped the sale of four of its lower priced smartphones in India. The smartphone models taken off the shelf reportedly include the iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6Plus and iPhone 6sPlus.

The move has been undertaken as a part of its new strategy to focus on driving value in India instead of chasing volumes. It will lead to an increase in the entry level price of an iPhone in India by almost Rs 8,000.

As per industry sources, the supplies of these models had stopped in June 2019.

However, the company has expanded its iPhone assembling operations in the country and soon plans to start offering the newer and super-premium models as well.
