Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the launch of a new data centre in Mumbai, India. According to AWS, this is the third availability zone in the Asia Pacific region and will support the rapid growth of customer base in India.

Further, the new availability zone will ensure increased capacity for AWS as well as significantly reduce the risk of a single disaster event impacting availability.

The company now has three availability zones in Mumbai.

Currently, AWS provides 65 availability zones across 21 geographic regions. Further, another 12 availability zones are coming up across four regions namely Bahrain, Indonesia, Italy, and South Africa.
