E-commerce major Flipkart has announced the launch of a new data centre in Hyderabad. The move is aimed at strengthening the company’s technology infrastructure. This is Flipkart’s second data centre in India and has been built in partnership with CtrlS.

As per Flipkart, the new data centre will help strengthen its growing e-commerce business in India. It will enhance the company’s ability to onboard more sellers and medium micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) on the marketplace and cater to more consumers.

This data centre will help Flipkart to be prepared for larger scale of operations in the country. It will also enhance the capabilities of its cloud platform software that supports its core solutions.

The new data centre facility has been rated as Tier-4. Majority of the power needs will be fulfilled by renewable energy. The facility is also among the energy efficient in India with low overall power usage effectiveness.
