Bharti Airtel launches e-book service to bolster content offerings

Bharti Airtel has launched an e-book service called Airtel Books for its smartphone users. The move is aimed at diversifying and strengthening its digital content portfolio.

The application will be available to both Airtel and non-Airtel subscribers customers. Initially, Airtel Books will offer more than 70,000 books from leading Indian and international authors. Airtel plans to expand its collection of books through partnerships with leading publishers and its strategic partnership with Juggernaut Books.

All users will be granted access to a complimentary 30-day trial wherein they can access ‘Free’ titles from the Readers Club. Users will also be given access to any five ‘Paid’ titles as a one-time special benefit.

Airtel Books’ subscription service, Reader’s Club is priced at Rs 129 for six months and Rs 199 for 12 months. Customers also have the option of purchasing on a per book basis.
