Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi is going to target India's rural market to bolster its growth in smartphone and smart TV segments.

To this end, the company has launched Mi stores which would cater to India's rural smartphone market as it believes that the offline market offers huge growth potential. Recently, in a single day, the company launched about 500 stores in rural markets across the country.

Further, the company also believes that television is another area which offers a significant growth. According to the company officials, Xiaomi has sold over a million smart TVs in less than nine months and in the process have become the number one player in the smart TV market.

Therefore, due to all these factors Xiaomi officials believe that offline expansion and category expansion shall continue to boost their growth and success in India.
