V Balakrishnan joins Association of NBFC P2P Platforms as a patron member

Former Infosys chief financial officer (CFO) V Balakrishnan has joined as a patron member of the Association of Non Banking Financial Company Peer to Peer Platforms (NBFC P2P). This is an association of companies in the P2P lending segment representing the Indian NBFC-P2P industry at various national as well as at international forums.

At present, Balakrishnan is founder & chairman of Exfinity Ventures Partners, an early stage technology fund. His company has invested in start-ups like Moengage, Fitternity among others.

The association consists of companies like OML P2P, Monexo, PaisaDukan, Finzy,Cashkumar, Liquiloans, Micrograam, Lendsmartp2p, Peerlend and India moneymart. Through various initiatives, the association aims to- establish formal lines of communication between various government and regulatory authorities on matter of compliance; create awareness about the industry; and work towards building public trust in the sector.

As per industry reports, the P2P lending industry is expected to be worth $4-$5 billion by 2023.
