DoT appoints Anshu Prakash as new additional secretary

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has appointed Anshu Prakash as its new additional secretary. Anshu Prakash, a 1986 batch Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre officer, was currently serving as the chief secretary of Delhi.

Further, the government has shifted N Sivasailam, who was serving as special secretary in the DoT to the Department of Commerce.

According to a notification by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of N Sivasailam as special secretary (Logistics), Department of Commerce.

The ACC has shifted various high-level officials recently.

This move is seen as a step to fast-forward some of the ongoing ambitious initiatives in the DoT, including BharatNet and Broadband for All as well as connectivity in the 115 most-backward districts, being monitored by the Prime Minister Office (PMO).
