The Internet Society and Internet Service Providers Association of India (ISPAI) have collaborated with each other to secure the Internet infrastructure in India. As per the partnership, these two entities will be focussing on securing the routers. They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the same.

Further, this partnership is aimed at promoting Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS), which is a global initiative to implement the key solutions required for decreasing the common threats to the internet's routing system.

This partnership could be attributed to the growing concerns over cyber security and data security. According to a report by the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in), the cyber security incidents in India during 2014, 2015 and 2016 were 44,679, 49,455 and 50,362 respectively.
