RCOM’s subsidiary GCX completes India data centre for Eagle Subsea Network

June 19, 2018

Global Cloud Xchange, subsidiary of Reliance Communications, has completed the India data centre for the Eagle Subsea Network which is expected to be operational by 2020. This was part of its cloud and fibre initiative taken up for Eagle Subsea Network. Once it lands in Mumbai, the Eagle express cable system will drive tremendous capacity towards Hong Kong and Europe.

Eagle Subsea Network will represent the fastest Mumbai to Hong Kong route via Thailand. The 7,750-km route will also be the fastest submarine cable route between India and key technology centres across the Middle East and Europe.

The new IDC-5 data centre or green data centre has the capacity of 40MW. The centre is spread over almost 450,000 square feet built-up area and 6,000-rack capacity. The new infrastructure is designed to meet growing cloud requirements and capacity demands from global enterprises.
