BSNL launches FTTH broadband plans to compete with private players
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband scheme, in an attempt to compete with Jio’s proposed foray into fibre connected broadband service. The schemes are for a promotional period of 90 days for new customers.
Calcutta Telephones, the Kolkata circle of BSNL unveiled two combo plans of Rs 777 and Rs 1,277 per month, offering 500 GB and 750 GB monthly data at up to 50 Mbps speeds, besides unlimited voice calls to any network.
Housing complexes will get 5GB/day data and unlimited voice calls at Rs 199. For the rest, the tariff will be Rs 299 per month with 300 GB of data and Rs 491 per month with 600 GB of data. All the plans are been rolled out at 20 Mbps speeds.
