CommScope opens new R&D center in Goa to serve India and global customers

Telecom equipment maker CommScope has expanded its manufacturing facility in Goa by setting up a new research and development (R&D) center to serve Indian as well as global customers.

The Goa manufacturing facility currently produces base station antennas, microwave antennas and fibre connectivity ithat serve India’s and the world’s wireless, telecom, broadband and enterprise network operators.

CommScope sees India as a hub for manufacturing, research and innovation and an integral part of the global supply chain. In addition to the Goa location, the company has operations in eight other Indian locations, including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.

Besides working with telecom operators, CommScope provides equipment to traditional gear vendors like Ericsson, Nokia, and Huawei. The company also has presence in the enterprise market where it helps customers connect data centers, and provides other connectivity products.

CommScope has around 3,400 employees working across the nine locations in R&D, engineering, sales, manufacturing and other roles.
