Paytm posts lower losses during 2016-17; revenues grow by 38 per cent

One97 Communications Limited, the parent firm of Paytm, has reported a 39 per cent decrease in net loss for 2016-17, as compared to an year ago.


Paytm’s losses have gone down from Rs 14.96 billion during 2015-16 to Rs 8.99 billion during2016-17.

The company's revenue has grown by 38.6 per cent during the same period and stood at Rs 8.28 billion for the year in consideration.

Also, Paytm's total expenses have increased by 17.6 per cent to Rs 20.88 billion for 2016-17 from Rs 17.75 billion for 2015-16.

Paytm has gradually emerged as the largest digital wallet player in the country with a reported user base of 218 million.
