Motorola to boost retail presence in India; launch 50 retail stores in New Delhi

January 18, 2018

Lenovo owned Motorola has announced its plans to open 50 Moto Hub retail stores across New Delhi in a bid to ramp up its retail presence.

This is the first phase of the company’s mission to boost its retail presence. In the second phase, Motorola aims to launch Moto Hub stores in over 100 cities across the country.

According to Motorola, more than two thirds of smartphone customers in the country buy smartphones offline. Through the launch of Moto Hubs, Motorola plans to capitalise on the retail opportunity India has to offer.

Moto Hub stores will offer Motorola’s entire portfolio of devices, including online exclusives such as Moto X4 smartphones and Moto Mods accessories. Further, these stores will also offer accessories like on-ear and in-ear headphones, Moto shells and phone covers.

Last month, Motorola partnered with Poorvika Mobiles across 43 cities in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Karnataka and also with Big C and Lot Mobile stores across 55 cities in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to enhance its offline access to consumers.
