InFocus to invest $20 million in India to boost sales

December 19, 2017

Chinese contract manufacturer, Foxconn’s handset company, InFocus, is planning to expand operations to cover smaller cities and towns in India. To this end, InFocus is planning to hire 5,000 employees and invest approximately $20 million in marketing and branding.

According to InFocus, these recruits will support Foxconn in handset manufacturing as well as in expanding the sales and marketing teams. In order to boost retail sales, InFocus will also be hiring brand promoters, who will be placed at retail stores. Currently, InFocus phones are being manufactured by third-party across the country.

Majority of the planned investment of $20 million has been earmarked for the online segment in the country.

At present, smartphones account for 75 per cent of the company’s handset sales in the country.
