TRAI to set tighter norms for international SIM card providers
June 12, 2017
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is currently in detailed discussion with international SIM card providers and global calling card companies to introduce stringent service norms.
The move comes after an SMS-based survey, showed that the customers were not satisfied with the services provided by international SIM cards providers.
The new norms are broadly expected to cover refunds (for pre-paid) and compensation (for postpaid users) in case the card does not work, 24- hour call center service, tighter checks including a monitoring mechanism on the amount of business done by these companies and number of cards sold by these companies.
